Policy Initiative — Menopause, Treatment Guidelines, and Breast Cancer (RFQ)

About this program

The University of California’s California Breast Cancer Research Program (CBCRP) Policy Initiative funds short-term research that generates and communicates policy-relevant evidence to reduce breast cancer in California. Awards support projects up to 6 months in duration with a budget cap of $150,000 in direct costs; CBCRP has allocated $260,000 annually to the initiative and allows full F&A for non‑UC institutions while capping UC F&A at 40% MTDC. Any policy research team based in California may apply, with projects expected to produce actionable findings and effectively deliver them to policymakers. Applications are peer‑reviewed by out‑of‑state scientific and advocate reviewers with final recommendations made by the CBCRP Council; the current RFQ on Menopause, Treatment Guidelines, and Breast Cancer has full applications due October 29, 2026.
