Presidential Membership Initiative

About this program

The Genetics Society of America’s Presidential Membership Initiative supports early-career scientists who would not otherwise join GSA by providing free 2027 membership, discounted 2028 membership, a conference abstract fee waiver, recognition, and professional development and networking opportunities. Applicants must be new or nearly new GSA members, including graduate students, postdocs, pre-tenure faculty, and early-stage staff or industry researchers; undergraduates and international applicants may also apply. Applications should address career goals, commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and educational and career experiences, with submissions due September 18, 2026.
