Presidential Pathology Scholarship

About this program

College of American Pathologists (CAP) Foundation offers the Presidential Pathology Scholarship—selected annually by the sitting CAP President—to support creative projects that expand awareness of pathology, develop future leaders, and connect communities; up to two awards of $500–$1,500 are available. Eligible applicants are board-certified pathologists, pathology residents with at least one year completed at time of application, or medical students enrolled in an accredited U.S. medical school who propose a project aligned with the CAP President’s annual focus (2026 focus: K–12 outreach introducing learners to pathology); previous scholarship recipients are ineligible. Complete applications—including project description, letter of support, timeline, budget, CV and required forms—are due August 19, 2026; awarded funds must be used within 12 months and recipients must submit a reconciliation report and brief impact materials.
