Private Dam Financial Assurance - Enrollment

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and Department of Environmental Protection jointly administer the Private Dam Financial Assurance Program, which assists owners of regulated private dams in meeting proof-of-financial-responsibility requirements under the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act. The program may provide financial assurance assistance and, once the fund reaches $1.5 million, low-interest loans of up to $500,000. Eligible applicants include individuals and private legal entities such as partnerships, associations, community associations, common interest communities, and corporations that own regulated private dams; a 50% match is required.
