Professional Development Opportunity Grant

About this program

The Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) offers Professional Development Opportunity Grants of up to $2,000 to help Maryland artists and arts organizations pursue relevant opportunities that support best practices, growth, learning, and economic sustainability. FY 2027 applications are accepted in two cycles, with the first deadline on August 31, 2026, and a second cycle scheduled for January–February 2027.

Eligible applicants include independent artists; Maryland-incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofits operating for at least one year; qualifying local government units, colleges, universities, and schools; and organizations operating under a Model A fiscal sponsorship. Applicants must identify a specific professional development opportunity taking place within the applicable grant period.
