Project Microgrants

About this program

Arts Council for Long Beach offers three microgrant streams—Project, Professional Development, and Public Art Maintenance—to fund Long Beach–based free public projects, artist training/workshops/conference attendance, and restoration/maintenance of existing murals and utility box artwork. Project Microgrants award up to $1,000 per fiscal year and must be free and open to Long Beach residents, emphasizing community representation and serving underserved populations; Public Art Maintenance grants range $250–$1,000; Professional Development grants cover training that enhances service to Long Beach communities (amounts not specified). Eligible applicants are Long Beach–based individual artists, organizations, and property owners collaborating with artists; fiscal sponsorship is not required for professional development awards. Applications are accepted quarterly (public art maintenance also open on a rolling basis) with the next deadline 15 Aug 2026, and applicants are notified after the Arts Council board meeting following each deadline; full guidelines are on the ArtsLB website.
