About this program

The Phycological Society of America offers Grants-in-Aid of Research to support graduate student and postdoctoral research in any area of phycology, particularly expenses that enable otherwise infeasible work. At least $17,500 is awarded annually, with graduate awards capped at $2,000 and postdoctoral awards at $5,000; funds may support research expenses and eligible technical courses but not stipends or indirect costs. Applicants must be current PSA members with active phycology research programs and may receive no more than two awards during their graduate or postdoctoral career. Applications, including a maximum two-page CV, research proposal, budget, and two confidential recommendation letters, must be submitted through the Jotform Portal by November 1 annually.
