Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program

About this program

The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program offers the Rangel Graduate Fellowship to recruit and prepare candidates for careers in the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service, planning to award 45 fellowships in 2025 that provide up to $42,000 annually for two years (up to $24,000/year for tuition/fees plus an $18,000 academic-year stipend) to support graduate study, internships, mentoring, and professional development. Applicants must be U.S. citizens seeking admission to begin a two-year master's program in fall 2025 (seniors graduating by June 2025 or college graduates) and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 at the time of application. Fellows are required to maintain the 3.2 GPA, complete two summer internships (Capitol Hill and an overseas posting at a U.S. embassy), participate in orientation and mentoring, and fulfill employment/contractual obligations that can lead to appointment as a Foreign Service Officer.
