About this program

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) offers the Redefining Community Wellness Grants Program to support BIPOC-led organizations in addressing substance use impacts through culturally responsive programming. Administered by Health Resources in Action (HRiA) and guided by a Community Advisory Board (CAB) of BIPOC residents, the program aims to improve health, wellness, and quality of life in BIPOC communities. Eligible applicants are BIPOC-led organizations, including community-based organizations (CBOs), faith-based organizations (FBOs), and tribal-indigenous-Pacific- Islander-serving organizations (TIPSOs), that primarily serve BIPOC communities.
