About this program

The Immune Deficiency Foundation offers one-year Research Grant Program awards of $25,000–$50,000 for noncommercial, patient-centered research addressing the treatment, diagnosis, management, and broader understanding of primary immunodeficiency (PI). The highest-scored application may also receive the Michael Blaese Research Grant Award. U.S.-based academic researchers in medicine and science, including M.D., D.O., Ph.D., and RN investigators, are eligible; students, residents, and fellows may apply with an appropriate mentor’s support, including a support letter and NIH biosketch. Animal-model studies are ineligible, institutional overhead is not funded, and applicants may submit only one proposal by September 14, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
