Research Presentation Awards (RPA) — undergraduate conference travel funding

About this program

The Office of Undergraduate Research at the University of Rochester offers Research Presentation Awards to support currently enrolled undergraduates presenting at academic conferences, funding registration, travel, lodging, and meals with an average maximum award of approximately $1,500; applications are accepted on a rolling basis (allow 2–4 weeks for processing). Applicants must be degree-seeking UR undergraduates in good academic standing who were accepted to present and who undertook the research and presentation while matriculated; seniors may not receive funds for conferences occurring after graduation, and students may receive one RPA per academic year. The award is intended as cost-sharing, so applicants should first seek departmental/advisor and conference funding and must submit an itemized budget showing other contributions, a brief statement of benefit, presentation abstract, conference link, resume, and a separately submitted letter of support from the research advisor. Recipients are expected to use University-approved branding on presentations and are encouraged to share photos/captions of their conference experience.
