Research Scientist Award

About this program

The SIR Foundation’s Research Scientist Award recognizes PhD scientists and engineers conducting original basic or preclinical research relevant to interventional radiology. Up to four recipients receive complimentary registration, a certificate, and a $1,000 travel stipend for the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. Applicants must be SIR members by the meeting, serve as principal or co-principal investigator and abstract presenter, and be enrolled in a graduate or postgraduate nonclinical training program. The research abstract must be accepted for oral presentation at the meeting; applications are due by 5:00 p.m. ET on November 15, 2026.
