About this program

The Kurt Weill Foundation for Music provides Research & Travel grants for expenses associated with visiting the Weill-Lenya Research Center and other locations containing primary-source materials. Applicants must pursue research related to Kurt Weill, Lotte Lenya, and/or Marc Blitzstein; proposals are reviewed by an independent advisory panel. Required materials include an English application, project description, CV or biography, itemized budget, detailed research prospectus, writing sample, and at least one recommendation letter. The primary deadline is November 1, with an additional June 1 deadline; retroactive funding is not available.
