About this program
The Wallace House Center for Journalists’ Livingston Awards offers the Richard M. Clurman Award to honor newsroom leaders and mentors who nurture, critique, and inspire young journalists and advance excellence in journalism. The award is presented annually at the Livingston Awards ceremony. Applicants do not apply for themselves; nominations may be submitted by journalists recognizing an on-the-job mentor whose guidance has significantly supported their careers and those of other journalists. Nominations for the 2027 award open in November 2026 and close March 1, 2027.
