About this program
The Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) offers the Robert A. and Beverly H. Hackenberg Prize to recognize lasting, meaningful collaborations between SfAA members and community partners that address local needs. The recipient receives a $2,000 award, commemorative plaque, and opportunity to present the project at the SfAA Annual Meeting. Eligible projects must be located in or near the state hosting the Annual Meeting and demonstrate community participation, sustainability, replicability, and evaluation, preferably through interdisciplinary collaboration. SfAA members, their community partners, or self-nominators may submit a letter describing the collaborators, project, and local impacts by October 15.
