About this program
The Explorers Club’s Rolex Explorers Club Grant provides awards of up to $10,000 for fieldwork addressing novel scientific, environmental, or historical questions in any discipline, supporting the 2027 field season. Applicants should be young explorers who demonstrate a spirit of exploration and submit an original proposal with a clear rationale, methodology, and potential for significant impact or new understanding. Applications are due September 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. ET, and must include two letters of support, permit information, ethical considerations, and a detailed budget; Explorers Club membership is not required. Proposals for work conducted in China or submitted by Chinese citizens are not eligible.
