Safe Arborist Techniques Fund Grant Program

About this program

The Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund (TREE Fund), in partnership with the International Society of Arboriculture, offers Safe Arborist Techniques Fund grants of up to $15,000 for research and development addressing safer climbing, rigging, tree-work equipment, techniques, and hazard identification. Projects should generally be completed within two years of initial disbursement and may use qualitative or quantitative methods across academic and technical disciplines. Applications must identify a Principal Investigator and contracting institution; grants to individuals, municipal tree surveys, tree planting, traditional forestry or conservation studies, and product testing primarily benefiting manufacturers are ineligible. Letters of intent are due September 1, 2026, with full proposals due October 15, 2026, by invitation following LOI review.
