SAJA Journalism Awards 2026

About this program

The South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) invites entries for its 2026 Journalism Awards, recognizing excellence in investigative, business, arts and culture, international, general, and student reporting. Awards support SAJA’s mission to promote newsroom diversity and coverage of South Asia and its global diaspora; the submission deadline is September 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Eligible work must meet the applicable category criteria and generally be independent journalism published by a U.S. or Canadian news outlet, with entry fees of $80 for organizations, $25 for individual journalists, and $15 for students. Freelancers, newsroom-employed journalists, organizations, and qualifying South Asian students may apply, subject to category-specific requirements.
