About this program

Schwarzman Scholars at Tsinghua University is recruiting the Class of 2027–2028 for its global leadership scholarship program, with the cohort beginning August 2027. The U.S./Global application is open through September 9, 2026 (deadline: Sept 9, 2026, 3 p.m. EDT); applicants with Chinese citizenship follow a separate Jan–May 2026 cycle. U.S./Global applicants must be non‑Chinese citizens holding a regular (non‑Chinese) passport and must satisfy PRC nationality documentation rules if born in China or if parents were Chinese citizens; applicants must have an undergraduate degree conferred by August 1, 2027. Applications, submitted in English only via the online portal, require transcripts, a resume, two essays (750- and 500-word limits), three recommenders, proof of English proficiency meeting published minimums (e.g., TOEFL iBT 100, IELTS 7, Duolingo 130), and final certification of accuracy; late or paper/email submissions are not accepted.
