About this program
The Research Corporation for Science Advancement, with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, offers Scialog: Information, Computation, and Thermodynamics in Biology to advance interdisciplinary research on living systems as information-processing, energy-constrained systems. The 2027–2029 program will convene researchers across biology, chemistry, physics, synthetic biology, artificial intelligence, and related fields to develop collaborative ideas using experiments, theory, and simulations. Approximately 50 early-career faculty—from their first faculty year through recently post-tenure—will be selected as Fellows, with senior scientists serving as Facilitators. Applications should be submitted by September 15, 2026, for full consideration.
