About this program
The South Dakota Board of Regents, through the SD EPSCoR/REACH initiative, is sponsoring the Competitive Research Grant Program to fund short-term projects that help early‑career faculty generate preliminary data and strengthen subsequent external grant applications. Awards support research activities that advance South Dakota’s research, education, and economic development priorities and align with EPSCoR goals. Eligible applicants are untenured faculty at any of the six public institutions in the Regental System; applications require a cover page, budget proposal, and will be subject to reporting requirements.
