About this program

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), with funding from NOAA, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and other partners, offers grants typically ranging from $50,000 to $400,000 for conservation of leatherback, loggerhead, and hawksbill sea turtles in the Western Hemisphere. Priorities include stranding and rehabilitation capacity, bycatch reduction, nesting beach restoration and protection, and population-scale conservation networks, primarily in U.S. coastal areas. Eligible applicants include nonprofit, state, local, tribal, educational, international, and for-profit organizations, but not federal agencies or individuals; applicants must comply with 2 CFR 200, and beach and bycatch projects require at least a 1:1 nonfederal match. Pre-proposals are due August 19, 2026, and invited full proposals are due October 27, 2026, through Easygrants.
