About this program
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), through its Structural Engineering Institute, offers the Shortridge Hardesty Award to recognize substantial contributions applying fundamental research to practical engineering problems in structural stability. The award includes an inscribed certificate and an honorarium determined annually. Nominees must hold any grade of ASCE and/or Structural Stability Research Council membership and may be recognized for an eligible publication or other effective personal contribution; individuals may receive the award only once. Nominations are due November 1 and require a signed cover letter, the nominee’s CV or biography, and up to three recommendation letters.
