SIAM Activity Group on Control and Systems Theory Prize

About this program

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Activity Group on Control and Systems Theory awards its biennial prize to one outstanding early-career researcher for distinguished contributions to the mathematical theory of systems and control. The award includes a certificate, recognition at the 2027 SIAM Conference on Control and Its Applications, and reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses. Nominees must be graduate students or have a qualifying peer-reviewed journal paper published within three years of receiving their Ph.D.; for the 2027 award, the key paper must have been published from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2026, and the candidate’s Ph.D. must have been awarded no earlier than 2021. Nominations, including a recommendation letter, CV, key-paper citation, and two or three expert support letters, are due October 15, 2026.
