SICB Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIAR)

About this program

The Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) offers Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIAR) awards of up to $1,000 to provide supplemental support for graduate student research in integrative and comparative biology. Funds must directly support the proposed investigation and may cover research supplies, field-related equipment, and local or on-site research costs, but not stipends, conference travel, major travel, lodging, or indirect costs; applications are due October 24. Applicants must be currently enrolled graduate students and active SICB members affiliated with a SICB division, and previous recipients of SICB GIAR or FGST awards are ineligible. Students may apply to only one of the GIAR or Fellowship for Graduate Student Travel programs.
