Sleep Europe 2026 Sustainable Travel Grant

About this program

The Early Career Network (ECN) of the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS) is offering at least 10 Sleep Europe 2026 Sustainable Travel Grants of up to €500 each to support registered participants who choose lower-carbon travel options to Maastricht and to promote sustainable travel behavior via social media. Eligible applicants are any registered Sleep Europe 2026 participants regardless of career stage or location, must demonstrate sustainable travel choices (e.g., train, bus, ferry, electric vehicle, cycling/sailing, carpooling, shared accommodation, or direct flights when necessary) and note that purchasing carbon offsets alone does not qualify. Applicants must post original photos or videos of their sustainable travel plans on Facebook, BlueSky, LinkedIn, or Instagram tagging the appropriate ESRS account and #ESRSsustainable2026, complete the application form with itinerary details and consent for ESRS promotional use; selection is by the ECN with preference for abstract presenters if oversubscribed. Applications close 31 August 2026 (awardees announced by 15 September 2026) and individuals who have already received an ESRS travel grant are ineligible for a second award.
