About this program

FAIMER and Southern Medical University offer the two‑year SMU‑FAIMER Regional Institute (SMU‑FRI) Fellowship in health professions education, delivered in English in a hybrid format with short intensive onsite instruction (Sep 17–28, 2025 and Sep 24–28, 2026) and distributed online implementation phases (Oct–Aug each year); fellows design, implement, evaluate and disseminate an educational project supported by the FAIMER core curriculum. Limited funding is available to offset course fees, materials, and meals, while travel, accommodation for residential sessions and project costs must be borne by the fellow or their institution. Eligible applicants are faculty from any health profession with a graduate or professional degree, demonstrable English proficiency, reliable internet access, current involvement in HPE teaching, and institutional nomination/support; applicants must not be enrolled in any other graduate‑level program.
