SOCS Observership Grant

About this program

The Skin of Color Society offers Observership Grants of up to $2,500 to support 1–4 week dermatology rotations with a SOCS mentor, covering eligible travel, lodging, meals, and related expenses. The program aims to advance academic and research skills among future leaders in dermatology focused on skin of color. Applicants must be active SOCS members or complete membership enrollment by the October 27, 2026 deadline and be dermatology fellows, dermatologists within four years of residency completion, or second- through fourth-year medical students. Applications require an identified SOCS mentor and location, budget, statement of purpose, CV, two recommendations, and supporting letters from the mentor and an institutional representative.
