About this program
The Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) presents the Sol Tax Distinguished Service Award annually to honor a member who has provided long-term, outstanding service to the Society. The award recognizes exceptional contributions such as organizational leadership, interdisciplinary communication, editing and publishing, curriculum development, ethical standards, or other efforts advancing SfAA and applied anthropology. Nominees must be SfAA members and should demonstrate lasting contributions in several eligible areas. Nominations, due October 1, must include a detailed letter, the nominee’s complete CV emphasizing SfAA service, and one support letter submitted to info@appliedanthro.org.
