Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP)

About this program

The Oregon Department of Agriculture, using USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) funding, is now accepting competitive applications to enhance the competitiveness of Oregon’s specialty crops; applicants should apply through ODA’s online SCBGP portal. Eligible projects must demonstrably enhance the competitiveness of U.S. specialty crops—examples include fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, Christmas trees, turf-type grasses and nursery crops (including floriculture/horticulture); a full list is on the USDA SCBGP website. Eligible applicants include non‑profit organizations, local governments, for‑profit businesses, industry trade associations, producer groups, commodity commissions, and public or private colleges/universities. Grant funds will not be awarded for projects that solely benefit a single entity, may not be used to purchase fixed assets or personal property, cannot cover pre‑award costs, and do not reimburse administrative or indirect costs.
