Sponsored Memberships – Association of Field Ornithologists

About this program

The Association of Field Ornithologists (AFO) offers Sponsored Memberships to reduce financial and participation barriers to involvement in ornithology. Awardees receive full AFO membership benefits and are encouraged to participate in the organization’s events, conferences, and committees during the following calendar year. Applicants may be from underrepresented groups in ornithology, Latin America, or otherwise unable to afford membership dues, and must submit personal information, a 250–500-word statement of interest, and reasons for requesting sponsorship. Applications are due October 15 annually, with awards announced in late November.
