SRSF Career Development Award

About this program

The Sleep Research Society Foundation (SRSF) offers the Career Development Award to support promising early-career investigators conducting cutting-edge research in sleep, circadian biology, and related disorders, funding up to four awards of $50,000 each for one year to aid transition to independence. Recipients are expected to apply for a mentored or independent federal research award during the funding year; no second-year funding is available. Applicants must hold a doctoral-level degree (e.g., MD, PhD, DO), be within 10 years of that degree at the postdoctoral/instructor/assistant professor level, be non-tenured, and not have served as PI/co-PI on grants exceeding $75,000 per year; prior or current federally funded career development award recipients are ineligible. SRS membership in good standing is required and complete applications (single PDF including mentor’s letter and evidence of commitment to sleep/circadian research) must be submitted via Reviewr by 11:59 PM CT on August 23, 2026; award notifications are expected in late November 2026.
