About this program
The Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT) offers three annual International Chapter Research Grants of up to $20,000 each for one-year projects advancing gastrointestinal surgery through clinical, quality improvement, educational, or translational research. Projects may be conducted within an international chapter or collaboratively between U.S. centers and international chapters, with funds supporting direct research costs and reciprocal site visits. Applicants must be SSAT members in good standing; faculty, fellows, and trainees may apply with documented supervision and institutional support, and proposals must represent new, original work. Applications are due September 30, 2026, and require a research proposal, personal statements, chair letters of support, and CVs.
