SSAT Residents and Fellows Research Award

About this program

The Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT) offers a one-year Residents and Fellows Research Award providing $50,000 to support clinical, translational, outcomes and health services, or basic science research conducted in an SSAT member’s research program. The award may support salary and direct research expenses, excludes institutional indirect costs, and may be renewed for one additional year. Applicants must be resident or fellow surgeons who are SSAT members in good standing and commit to at least one year of full-time research; applications require a research plan, applicant and mentor CVs, mentor letter, funding information, and relevant institutional approvals. Applications are due September 30, 2026, with the grant period beginning January 1, 2027.
