About this program
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), with support from the Bechtel Foundation, offers the Stephen D. Bechtel, Jr. Energy Award to honor outstanding contributions by a civil engineer to the advancement of the energy field through research, planning, design, construction, or other notable achievements. The award includes a plaque and an honorarium determined annually. Nominees must be ASCE members in good standing and may not have previously received the award; nominations must include a signed cover letter, CV or biography, and two or three recommendation letters. Nominations are due November 1 and must be submitted by an eligible ASCE Section, Branch, or Technical Division Executive Committee.
