About this program

AIA New York’s Center for Architecture administers the Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant to support early- and mid-career architects undertaking self-directed, travel-based research that advances their personal and professional development. Proposals should present a focused course of study outside the academy and are intended for individual inquiry rather than larger humanitarian or institutional projects; recipients may be asked to present results at the Center upon return. Applicants must demonstrate financial need (the journey cannot proceed without funding), a clear and focused line of inquiry, and tangible benefit to their professional practice; past awards have been in the ~$15,000 range. Deadline: October 5, 2026.
