STFM New Faculty Scholars Program

About this program

The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), with support from the STFM Foundation, offers the New Faculty Scholars Program to develop leadership and scholarship skills among early-career academic family medicine faculty through one year of coaching, learning, networking, and conference participation. Scholars receive up to $1,000 for travel to present at and attend the STFM Annual Spring Conference, along with mentoring and recognition. Applicants must be current STFM members and faculty employed at least 0.8 FTE in a family medicine department or residency program for two to four years, and may not be full-time fellows or current board/standing committee members of specified family medicine organizations. Applications for the 2027 class are due September 30, 2026, and require the application, a two-page biosketch and photo, and a chair or program director letter confirming support and participation.
