Strategic Project Grant Application Process

About this program

The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust offers Strategic Project Grants to eligible nonprofit organizations for projects aligned with the Trust’s current funding priorities and limitations. Applications follow a two-stage process beginning with a Letter of Inquiry (LOI), with three annual submission cycles and full applications accepted only from organizations with approved LOIs. Applicants must meet the Trust’s geographic and tax-status requirements, demonstrate project eligibility through the online quiz and LOI, and submit required documentation through the grants portal. Returning grantees may generally submit an LOI for a new project three years after their last award date.
