About this program

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society issues targeted Requests for Applications (RFAs) to fund focused research projects that address specific gaps or high-priority research directions in MS; topics and funding vary annually. The 2026 targeted RFA cycle is closed; for applicants whose letters of intent were invited for the "Impact of Aging" RFA, full proposals were due Wednesday, September 9, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. ET and must be submitted via the Society’s MS Grants portal. Applicants must register for an MS Grants user ID/password (allow ~2 business days for approval), submit a required letter of intent by the posted LOI deadline to be invited to submit a full proposal, and follow the program guidelines, application checklist and policies; contact James.Quinn@nmss.org or msresearch@nmss.org for questions or to receive notices of future RFAs.
