Targets to Therapies: Aggregation and Synuclein Biology Target Validation

The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s Targets to Therapies Program funds research validating aggregation and synuclein biology targets with therapeutic relevance to Parkinson’s disease. Supported work may assess target modulation, mechanisms, patient-sample links, biomarkers, target engagement, and biological safety in Parkinson’s-relevant models. Applicants should propose focused projects addressing defined target gaps and generating reproducible, translatable evidence toward a therapeutic decision point; broad discovery and therapeutic development not directly tied to target validation are excluded. Pre-proposals are due May 27, 2026, with full proposals due September 15, 2026 by invitation, and funded outputs must comply with MJFF’s Open Science Policy.
