TCD Working Group Grant

About this program

The University of Florida Tropical Conservation & Development (TCD) Program at the Center for Latin American Studies offers TCD Working Group Grants of up to $1,000 to support interdisciplinary student–faculty working groups meeting over one or two semesters to address conservation–development linkages and produce tangible outputs (e.g., syntheses, workshops, grant proposals, databases, visiting scholars, or conference participation). Proposals should be student-initiated with 1–2 faculty sponsors, originate from TCD‑affiliated departments, and demonstrate interdisciplinary integration and diverse participation; preference is given to students enrolled in the TCD certificate and a student may serve as PI on only one TCD Working Group Grant per degree program. Applications require an online form and a single PDF containing a ≤2-page accessible proposal (plus bibliography and timetable); outcomes must be reported at a Tropilunch or Conservation & Development Forum, and the deadline is October 12, 2026.
