Terry Healy Coastal Project Award

About this program

The New Zealand Coastal Society offers the annual Terry Healy Coastal Project Award to acknowledge a coastal project that has made a significant contribution to New Zealand’s coastal and marine environment and to promote the NZCS vision of sustainable management underpinned by sound science, engineering, policy, monitoring and community and national networks. The award recognises overall commitment to excellence in coastal zone practice and is an accolade rather than a monetary grant. Eligible projects must be nominated by NZCS members and demonstrably align with NZCS values and excellence in coastal practice; nomination forms are available (PDF/DOC). Nominations close at 5pm on 1 September each year (deadline 1 Sep 2026).
