The Comitas Institute Award for Public Knowledge and Engagement

About this program

The Comitas Institute for Anthropological Study and the Society for Applied Anthropology offer two $5,000 prizes recognizing ethnographic research that advances public knowledge and engagement on socially significant human and planetary challenges. Eligible applicants may be academic or independent researchers at any career stage, and international submissions are welcome. The submitted work must be an applicant-authored public-facing publication first released within the two years before the October 15 deadline, with English translations and audio transcriptions required when applicable. Applications must include a CV, research and impact statement, digital publication, and supporting evidence of public engagement.
