The Future of Kansas History Summit

About this program

Humanities Kansas and the Kansas Historical Society, with support from the Patterson Family Foundation, offer the free Future of Kansas History Summit on September 24–25, 2026, in Topeka. The event supports networking, professional exchange, and collaborative planning among Kansas museums, historical societies, and history professionals; travel stipends and hotel reimbursements are available for eligible small and rural museums. Local history stakeholders, including museum directors and historical society board members, may attend, with a limit of two representatives per organization and required registration. Attendance is currently full, but waitlist registration is open through August 31, 2026; applicants wishing to present a 5–10-minute project or local history story must apply by July 31, 2026.
