The John Brinckerhoff Jackson Book Prize

The University of Virginia Center for Cultural Landscapes seeks submissions for the 2026 John Brinckerhoff Jackson Book Prize, which recognizes a book published within the past three years that makes a significant contribution to historical landscape studies. The winning author will receive a monetary award and be invited to give a book talk at the University of Virginia. Eligible books should treat landscape as a subject, rather than merely a context, and preferably introduce new topics or methods. Nominations are due May 1, 2026, and must include author and publisher contact information, a cover letter, and four packages mailed to the jurors.
