The Leon Levy Scholarships in Neuroscience (LLSN)

About this program

The New York Academy of Sciences, in partnership with the Leon Levy Foundation, offers three-year Leon Levy Scholarships in Neuroscience to support innovative postdoctoral research and development toward independent neuroscience careers. Awards include a stipend at 125% of the NIH postdoctoral rate, fringe benefits, research and care-cost allowances, mentorship, professional development, and Academy membership. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree, have no more than three years of postdoctoral experience, conduct neuroscience research, and be employed with the support of a research advisor at an eligible accredited nonprofit academic institution in one of New York City’s five boroughs by September 1, 2027. Applicants must also meet specified citizenship or immigration-status requirements; applications open August 21 and are due October 16, 2026.
