Transformative Climate Communities Round 6 IMPLEMENTATION Grant (FY 25-26)

About this program

The California Strategic Growth Council’s Transformative Climate Communities Round 6 Implementation Grant funds neighborhood-scale, community-led plans that coordinate multiple greenhouse-gas-reduction, climate resilience, health, environmental, and economic development projects in disadvantaged communities. Eligible lead applicants include California Native American Tribes, tribally owned nonprofits, 501(c)(3) nonprofits, public agencies, special districts, joint powers authorities, public utilities, and mutual water companies. Applicants must include at least two co-applicants and establish a collaborative governance structure with local residents and leaders; project areas must meet TCC disadvantaged-community criteria and be continuous areas of no more than 15 square miles in rural communities or 5 square miles in urban communities. A pre-proposal is required by June 30, 2026, the final application is due September 30, 2026, and most applicants must provide leverage equal to at least 50% of the requested grant amount, while certain Tribal and disadvantaged-unincorporated-community applicants have modified requirements.
