Transformative Climate Communities Round 6 PROJECT DEVELOPMENT Grant (FY 25-26)

About this program

The California Strategic Growth Council offers Transformative Climate Communities Round 6 Project Development Grants to fund pre-development and basic infrastructure activities that advance community-led climate resilience projects in disadvantaged communities. Grants of $1 to $5 million, totaling approximately $15 million, may support efforts that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve local health, environmental conditions, economic opportunity, and resilience over a two-year period.

Eligible lead applicants must be California-based tribes, tribally owned nonprofits, 501(c)(3) nonprofits, public agencies, or specified local governmental and utility entities; private shareholder corporations are ineligible. Projects must be located in TCC-designated disadvantaged communities, require multiple co-applicants and a collaborative governance structure, and include community engagement and climate resilience activities; disadvantaged unincorporated, Tribal, planning-grant, and prior implementation-grant communities receive priority.
