About this program

The National Academy of Sciences awards two annual Troland Research Awards of $75,000 each to recognize unusual achievement by early-career researchers and to advance empirical research across the broad spectrum of experimental psychology. Eligible candidates are early-career investigators—preferably age 45 or younger—whose work demonstrates distinguished empirical contributions to experimental psychology; awards are made by nomination. Nominations for the 2027 awards are accepted through Monday, October 5, 2026.
