UC Davis Global Surgery Research Fellowship

About this program

UC Davis Health Department of Surgery’s Center for Global Surgery offers a one-year Global Surgery Research Fellowship to train future leaders in global surgery research, capacity building, and quality improvement by providing mentorship, a structured research curriculum, and opportunities to design and carry out a project with international collaborators. The non‑ACGME fellowship runs for 12 months (July start) with a cohort of 1–2 fellows and is intended for surgery and anesthesia residents; applicants enrolled in UC Davis training programs or those from low- and middle-income countries are encouraged to apply. Application materials include a CV, a personal statement (≤1,000 words) outlining career goals and a mentoring/development plan, and a research proposal (≤1,000 words) with hypothesis/aims, methods, a 12‑month timeline, and feasibility; submit materials and questions to globalsurgery@ucdavis.edu.
